Under The Sea with Mom-To-Be

This past weekend I had the honor of hosting my sister-in-law’s baby shower! When my brother told me he was getting married a few years ago, I was floored. And when I found out he and his wife, Julia were expecting a baby, I about died. They both claimed they never wanted to get married, never have kids, etc. So, everyone has been shocked – but in the happiest way possible. I absolutely cannot wait to become an aunt to this sweet boy in October!

When I found out their nursery was aquatic theme, I knew it would be perfect for the theme of the shower! I found amazing invitations on Etsy (Soo highly recommend BlueFenceDesign for fun shower/wedding/birthday invitations!) along with matching cupcake toppers, and games. Seriously. Made my life SO much easier. My aunt helped out with food, which was great! I was able to focus my attention on the decor, games, prizes, etc.

Overall I was extremely happy with how things turned out! I found an awesome fish net to drape over the table cloth for more of an aquatic feel. It totally brought the vibe I was going for. I put little fish bowls from the Dollar Tree as a center piece and filled the bowls with Swedish Fish and Octopus shaped sour gummies  (who knew there was such a thing!?)

I also made adorable jellyfish using paper lanterns with streamers hanging from below! We placed them strategically around the room, which just added a little creativity to the room!

For favors I put together super simple little baggies filled with salt water taffy (sea theme, salt water, get it!?) then I put little tags on them saying “it was great to SEA you!” And “hope to SEA you soon!” Just a little extra detail to tie everything together!

Overall, I absolutely loved the theme of this shower – there were so many creative little touches to add. Everything was a hit and I know my sister-in-law loved and appreciated every bit of it!
